Pronounced Sigh-tron

Engineered for rapid problem solving

Tech problems do not scare us. Unresolved ones do. CSCentron is a Cairns-based technical practice built around one outcome: a working solution without the enterprise fluff.

The practice

A 30-year specialist, not a staffing agency

CSCentron is run by Tim Casson-Smith. Clients work directly with him — the person who investigates the issue, researches the fastest path, and builds or repairs the system.

The work sits at the practical end of technology: business apps that replace paper and spreadsheets, SQL databases that need to run cleanly, and Linux servers that need a certified pair of hands.

What we do not offer is generic helpdesk, vague “IT consultancy”, or DevOps and cloud architecture we would not stand behind. If it is not a strength, it is not on the menu.

How we work

Solution-driven, research-backed, then executed

Rapid diagnosis

Most clients do not arrive with a tidy specification. They arrive with a slow database, a manual process wasting hours, or an idea with no technical roadmap. We start by finding the real problem.

The right tool, not the most expensive one

We research the stack so you do not waste money on the wrong software. Sometimes that is a modular CSCentron app. Sometimes it is a $50/month product we will tell you to buy.

Fixed scope, then launch

Phase 1 is written down. Extra ideas go on a Phase 2 list. That is how apps ship in weeks instead of disappearing into endless redesigns.

How a project runs

Three steps. No surprises.

1

Fixed-scope audit

We lock down exact features, screens and data before any build starts. $650 AUD, credited if you proceed.

2

Rapid deployment

We customise a proven package to your branding and workflow, with regular updates in plain English.

3

Launch and handover

You test, approve and go live. Thirty days of bug support is included on app packages.

Coverage

A UK and Australian bridge

Born in the United Kingdom and holding Australian permanent residency, Tim works comfortably across both markets. Communication is native English. Updates are daily and in plain language. Hours overlap Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Remote work is the default. On-site in Far North Queensland can be arranged when the job needs it.

Ready to talk through a problem?

A 15-minute call is enough to see whether a package, a database fix, or a research audit is the right first step.
